It was revealed in Sky news that a man was shot from close range but his nose stopped the bullet. According to the details Daniel Greenwood 19 struggled with robber who had pulled  gun on him. The robber tried to snatch a gold chain from the victims neck at a house in Manchester on March 22. It was told to the Manchester Crown Court that he tried to snatached the gun from him but it accidentally went off. The doctors removed the bullet.  But he still suffers flashbacks, sleeplessness and headaches.

GP Sarah Jarvis told Sky News Online that the man had a lucky escape.

She said: “The nose is mainly made up of cartilage, but at the top you have got bone. If you point a gun straight up a nostril, a bullet would have to travel through a lot of bone in order to get into the skull. Bone is hard and very strong, so in this case it sounds like it slowed the bullet down enough not to have been fatal.”
Cummin admitted robbery and possesion of a firearm. He was sent to  an inderminate prison sentence, and will be in prison for minimum of six years.

Feel free to comment on the lucky escape in the incident.

Sunderland fans shame game

October 28, 2008 by Brian

Sunderland football club look set to avoid any action by the FA for the shameful antics during the Wear-Tyne derby.

Fans invaded the pitch during the Sunderland V Newcastle game and confronted Newcastle keeper Shay Given after Manu reject Kieran Richardson’s winner. Newcastle’s midfielder Joey Barton was pelted with coins and bottles has he warmed up on the sidelines. A transports police officer had his wrist broken has he tried to stop a home fans attacking the away supporters and a policewoman was hit by a firework that was thrown by home supporters.

I appreciate that this was Sunderland’s first home league win in 28 years against Newcastle but that’s no reason to respond in the manner.

FA spokesman said: “The key issue is to work with the clubs and the police to ensure all of those involved in Saturday’s disorder are identified and put through the courts to hopefully receive football banning orders. “In the last few weeks, there have been some unfortunate incidents. We want to work with clubs and other agencies to ensure that they are not repeated in the future.”

The press seem more interested in highlighting the fact that Joey Barton kissed his badge when he was targeted by home fans than the fact that no player should have to put up with this treatment.
We understand that Joey has done wrong but people that behave in this manner are just as bad if not worse in our book.

The FA should have acted to prevent a retake of the trouble at the return fixture.

Innocent Biker Shot by Army

October 25, 2008 by afridi

In Afghanistan British troops have shot an innocent biker after believing him to be a possible suicidal bomber, the biker was shot by the International forces in an area of the Helmand province. According to the spokesman for International Security Assistance Force ISAF, he was shot when he failed to stop after been given four warning including shots that were fired in the air.

The question here is who would stop for the international forces in Afghanistan where they have already a bad image of killing civilians. Everyone over there believes that if the army don’t find any evidence they will still send the innocents to the Guantano Mobay where there is no human rights.

After he was shot evidence showed that he was not holding any explosives, he wasn’t even carrying a fire arm. The forced added that “The loss of innocent lives is a tragedy and Isaf and coalition forces seek at all times to avoid civilian casualties. “Our soldiers are trained to take appropriate steps to minimise civilian casualties whilst at the same time taking action to protect them selfs when threatened.”

it is not an rare that civilians are being shot. We have other news where soldiers are being killed in friendly fire due to lack of communication. Another question which is very hot in media is that the number of the causalities of civilians is much higher than the number of Talibans killed.

It is really a shame that civilians are losing their lives in Afghanistan; It clearly shows that that war in Afghanistan was a mistake.

Katy Perry has angered Anti-knife campaigners after she posed with a knife with a 3” blade. The picture made the front page of a national newspaper and is also available online.

Richard Taylor, the dad of stab victim Damilola Taylor, told The Sun: “This woman’s behaviour is unacceptable.”She must be out of her mind to pose for a picture like this. There is nothing glamorous about knives – they wreck families.”

He added: “Any youngsters seeing her will think it is okay to carry a blade.”

Will the picture really increase the chances of teenagers carrying knifes?
