Singaporeans jailed for wearing kangaroo T-shirts in court

Three Singaporeans were jailed on Thursday after being charged with contempt of court for showing up at Singapore’s Supreme Court wearing T-shirts depicting kangaroos in judges robes.

The three had worn the T-shirts at a court hearing in May to determine the damages that Chee Soon Juan and his sister Chee Siok Chin were to pay after being found guilty of defaming Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and former leader Lee Kuan Yew.

They were sentenced to seven days’ jail, while Tan Liang Joo John is the Assistant Secretary-General of the opposition Singapore Democratic Party received 15 days imprisonment. They were each ordered to pay $5,000.

Singapore’s attorney-general said in bringing the case to court the trio had “scandalized the Singapore judiciary.”Singapore bans gatherings and protests in all public areas without a permit except Speakers’ Corner, the country’s equivalent of the historic free-speech haven in London’s Hyde Park.

Women in UK caught running prostitution business

Two one 57 and other 47 year old woman were caught selling and trafficking for prostitution in the greater Belfast area in UK. They were charged with £25,000. They were accused of controlling prostitution, money laundering and human trafficking for prostitution. During the police operation two women were rescued from them. The laws around prostitution in England and Wales are far from straight-forward. The act of prostitution is not in itself illegal  but a string of laws criminalizes activities around it. Under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, it is an offence to cause or incite prostitution or control it for personal gain. The 1956 Sexual Offences Act bans running a brothel and it’s against the law to loiter or solicit sex on the street. Kerb-crawling is also banned, providing it can be shown the individual was causing a persistent annoyance. Adverts placed in phone boxes have been banned since 2001. Human trafficking, a component of modern prostitution, is also covered by the law. There are also general laws on public nuisance and decency which can be used to target the sex trade.

Mailman gets a big fine for holding junk mails

 A former North Carolina mailman who admitted keeping people’s junk mail in his garage or buried in his backyard has been sentenced to probation. Steven Padgett pleaded guilty in federal court on Aug. 18 to delaying the mail. He received three years’ probation during a hearing Wednesday. He faced up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Eleven family members and friends attended the hearing, and 32 others sent letters of support for Padgett. he 58-year-old Padgett said he kept thousands of pieces of third-class mail instead of delivering it on his route in Apex. His attorney said Padgett couldn’t keep up with the U.S. Postal Service’s strict schedule. No first- or second-class mail was found at his home. The U.S. Postal Service did not receive a single complaint from Padgett’s customers about missing mail during the years he withheld pizza circulars, oil change discounts and Chinese restaurant specials.

Boyfriend killed his girlfriend’s parents on girls urge seems the only way for them to be together

A Canadian man helped kill his 12-year-old girlfriend’s parents and younger brother because the girl told him it was the only way they could be together.

The girl has already been convicted of three counts of first-degree murder and is serving a 10-year sentence as part of a rarely used intensive rehabilitation program.

“Mr. Steinke would do anything for the girl, and that included participating in the planned and deliberate murders of her parents and little brother,” Robins said.

Steinke tried to talk the girl out of this “But she wouldn’t have it that way — and he was a man of his word,” Robins said.

“Before he died, [the girl's father] asked him `Why?”‘ Robins told the jury.

“Because your daughter wanted it that way,” Steinke responded.

Members of the slain family cannot be named to protect the identity of the daughter under Canada’s Youth Criminal Justice Act. Steinke’s trial has been moved to Calgary because of the publicity surrounding the case in Medicine Hat.

Robins said she will take the jury through how the pair met through friends. Her parents immediately disapproved of the 10-year age gap, especially after catching them kissing at a punk show.

The girl “hated her parents for restricting her relationship with Mr. Steinke,” said Robins, adding they continued their relationship online through a social networking site.

Messages posted to that site showed the beginnings of a plan.

“I hate them. So I have this plan. It begins with me killing them, and ends with me living with you,” Robins read aloud from a message posted under the girl’s screen name.

Robins said the jury will hear evidence about what Steinke and the girl did in other parts of the city while police were untangling the gruesome scene.

“Eating fast food. Making out with one another. Talking about the murders, and talking about the cleanup,” she said

Missing Person Case Pakistan

In our previous story we have mentioned the dirty role of a dictator in Pakistan. This story which should be titled as the “The Chronicles of the Shamed General”. The reason we are putting main stress on the this story is to provide the inside story to the world. As we all are concerned about the persons who are being held in custody for years and are given the name so called terrorist. Over here I will like to make a request to the readers that before making any decision and calling them terrorists just think about this.

It is the duty of the court to convict some one and label them as a terrorist not a duty of individual or uniform persons. If they are involved in any crime against the humanity why we don’t see any criminal proceedings against them. If there are any criminal charges against them why don’t we see the reports? Why  are they not shown on media? Is the government ashamed for this shameful act , may be this the reason they are hiding the truth.

I am pasting the a letter which was send by the Chairperson, Defense of Human Rights for the Missing Person writes a letter to the ISI Chief recently on the anniversary of the Martial Law against Judiciary.

I have come to know through President Musharraf’s book, “In the line of Fire” that valuable citizens of Pakistan were sold to Americans after taking,“bounties of Dollars”.Some of them are; Dr. Afia Siddiqi along with three innocent children, Saifullah Paracha, Majid Khan, Atique ur Rehman, Faisal Faraz and my husband Masood Ahmad Janjua.

I also have confirmed evidence of my husband Masood Ahmad Janjua abducted on 30th July 2005 from Rawalpindi, being still kept in Pakistan at GHQ Rawalpindi, 10 corps Chaklala Garrison Rawalpindi, and at Cell 20 I-9 Islamabad (under Col. Habibullah) during his 3 years 3 months most torturing illegal detention, so far. Lt General Safqaat the then MS to the President also called my father-in-law Lt Col Retd. Raja Ali Muhammad on 31st May 2006 and confirmed that Masood is alive and will be coming home.

The sources of my confirmed information are international Human Rights Organizations like; Cage Prisoners, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Witnesses of many Released Persons, and confirmation through Pakistan Army and Air force Sources (which I will disclose being asked about it), that Masood is in the control of Secret Agencies of both Pakistan and USA working in close collaboration in Pakistan.

Since huge amounts of money was taken for Masood (Violating all International and National laws, fundamental Rights guaranteed under Universal Declaration of Human Rights), Americans will never release him unless they will get their money back. I request you as an aggrieved daughter of the Nation to please give me this much favor as to tell me how much money should I need to pay to buy back my Husband from American custody and similarly other valuable citizens of my beloved country….?

For this kindness my very old parents, two sons, one daughter and me myself will keep praying for you all our life, if Masood is released like this by paying off the required amount.

Father raped his daughters for 27 years resulted in 7 children

British dad was sentenced to life in jail for subjecting daughters to rapes over 27 years. The two daughters were made pregnant 19 times; there were nine births, five miscarriages and five terminations. Seven of the children are alive but suffer genetic deformities. The father, who cannot be named for legal reasons banning the identification of his victims and the surviving children, pleaded guilty Tuesday at Sheffield Crown Court, northern England, and was sentenced to serve 25 life sentences to run concurrently. The UK’s Press Association reported that the rapes began in 1981 with daily attacks and that for long periods, they would be raped up to three times a week, and the assaults would continue through pregnancies. Their only reprieve came after they had just given birth or when they were ill because of the abuse. If either daughter tried to refuse their father’s attacks, they would be punched, kicked and or held to the flames of a gas fire, burning their eyes and arms. In Austria this year, Josef Fritzl was arrested, accused of keeping his daughter in a basement dungeon and fathering seven children through the rapes.

BOY DIES FROM USING EXCESSIVE DEODORANT

In Britain a twelve year old Daniel Hurley died after using too much spray deodorant in a confined space. He collapsed after spraying on Lynx Deodorant in the bathroom of his home.  An inquest was told last week that a “volatile” agent in the deodorant upset the boy’s heart rhythm. He was hospitalized after the incident and died five days later from a cardiac arrhythmia, also known as abnormal heart rhythms. His father, Robert Hurley, told the inquest that Daniel was fit and healthy. He also took pride in his appearance, using hair gels and deodorants, which he often sprayed all over his clothes.

AN undercover cop used one of his force’s secret spy cameras to film women in the toilet at his wife’s physio clinic. Andrew Maton, 43, hid the camera in a bag on a shelf.

The dad of five was arrested after he left the tape — including shots of HIMSELF — at South Yorkshire Police’s technical support unit.

At Sheffield Crown Court, Maton, of Rotherham, admitted two counts of voyeurism and seven of possessing indecent images of children.

He was given a 36-week jail term suspended for two years, a two-year supervision order and ordered to sign the sex offenders register.

Mom flushed her newborn baby down the toilet

Today in London a woman Claire Jones confessed to a British Court she accidentally flushed her newborn down the toilet because she didn’t realize she was giving birth. She knew she was pregnant from an affair with a colleague but thought the pain she suffered in the early hours of Dec. 28 was from diarrhea. She realized what had happened after she saw a foot in the toilet bowl. She tried unsuccessfully to revive the baby and then put the body in the trunk of her car. The corpse was found in Jones’ vehicle after she was arrested. She was given a suspended sentence for concealing the baby’s birth. The coroner’s court is investigating the circumstances of the baby’s death.

Family shock at Florida web death

The family of a US teenager who killed himself live online via a webcam has spoken of their regret at how no one stopped the unfolding suicide. Abraham Biggs, 19, from Pembroke Pines, near Miami, killed himself hours after announcing his plan on his blog. He began the process by posting messages telling people he was going to kill himself, and then started streaming live pictures from his home. Some of viewers who logged in to watch began to encourage the teenager to kill himself, while others tried to dissuade him. After several hours, when he had not moved some viewers finally notified the site’s moderator, who then called the police. The boy’s sister, Rosalind Biggs, denounced the website, Justin.tv, which allows people to broadcast themselves online: “They got hits, they got viewers, nothing happened for hours.” It is unclear how many people watched Wednesday’s suicide unfold, although reports suggest that some viewers thought it was a hoax. The last transmission from the webcam was of a police officer bursting into Abraham Biggs’s room, where he discovers his body and then places his hand over the camera. Michael Seifert, chief executive of Justin.tv, said the company and its staff would “take a moment to recognize and reflect upon the tragedy that occurred within our community” and offered condolences to the Biggs family.
