I received this email that is supposed to be from the NatWest Bank. I don’t and have never banked with the Nat West Bank so why was the email sent to me? The answer is very simple, the email is known as phishing. The propose is to trick NatWest customers into clicking on the link and entering account details, the site that you are directed to has nothing to do with the Nat West and if you enter your details your account maybe abused.
If a bank is going to contact you there would do so by letter and not an email, if the bank did contact you by email you would be addressed by your name and you wouldn’t be asked to enter confidential information. If you receive any emails like this you should contact the bank directly or go to the official site by typing the address is your browser, never follow links in an email.
